Eye Health

It is impossible to avoid straining the eyes in today's world. Spending long hours staring at a computer screen has a very negative impact on the eyes. But certain steps could be followed to lessen the impact of over straining. Never work in dim light and especially avoid reading in moving vehicles. While working on a computer blink as often as possible, blinking lubricates and relaxes the eyes. Rubbing the eyes very hard is also not good.

If you are over age 60, NEI recommends that you have an eye exam through dilated pupils every two years. Cataract can occur at any age, but you are at a higher risk after age 60. If you are over age 60, NEI recommends that you have an eye exam through dilated pupils every two years.
